Solo vs Pooled Mining
Solo mining is an all-or-nothing, no-fee lottery for the full block reward, while pooled mining trades a small fee for steady, shared payouts across many miners. Choose solo for high-upside, high-variance play or pooled for predictable, low-variance earnings.
Solo Mining (Quick “Lottery Ticket” Overview)
Zero fees: You keep 100 % of the block reward if you win.
Lottery-style: Your 1 TH is your ticket—odds depend on network difficulty and total hash rate.
Big jackpot: Hit a block, and it’s all yours in one go.
Bottom line: Solo mining is a no-fee, high-upside “lottery ticket”—your 1 TH unit gets you in the game with a small chance at the full reward.
Pooled Mining
💡 Pooled mining requires you to set up an account with a 3rd-party pool provider. ACS recommends Luxor Pool as our preferred pool provider.
With pooled mining, you team up with other miners to share block rewards. In practice, this means:
Steady, small payouts instead of waiting for a whole block.
Pool fee (usually 1–3 %) taken from each payout.
Not recommended for a 1 TH device at home— it won’t cover your electricity cost at normal residential power rates.
